Oh natural!

April 3rd & 4th, 2015

3 kelownians hangin' in Bali.

Our mornings are still the same as always but today on our walk back from Alchemy we saw something new. We just so happened to look down over the ledge while walking on the the bridge and there was 3 naked Indonesians bathing themselves in the little river. This was exceptionally funny because they were climbing on rocks and while standing facing us they had their junk in one hand and waving us over with the other.

Bath time!

In case you were wondering, we didn't go down but we did entertain them by waving back and pretending that we would join them. After our morning walk back to the house we showered and then met up with Katie at Veggie Table for lunch.

Katie literally left Kelowna one day after we did and has been doing the same trip we have just in a different order. But finally we're all in the same place at the same time and we had a really wicked day together. We spent the day showing her around and we did a bit of shopping then the worst thing happened...

Ok, maybe not the worst but I will admit I was quite devastated. After lunch, we were telling Katie about how amazing this vegan coconut ice cream that we have often. We get to Kokoloto and the whole shop is closed down and cleared out... I couldn't believe that we were there just a few days prior and no one told us that they were closing down. Sad moment and big loss for Ubud.

Once again, crushed dinner!

After an awesome day of catching up and walking around with Katie, we headed home and finished my day with a nice cold shower and some coconut oil for my tat.

These dorks doh.

We are wasting no time with Katie, we met up again first thing this morning and we brought her to Alchemy. First bite in and she was just as hooked as we were when we had our first bite! Success!

Bellies full of fruit for breakie and Indian food for lunch and then it was time for a bit of adventure. We've been talking about walking along the ridge for quite some time now but never did it because we've been so useless lately but we finally went today. Vee, Katie and I trekked up and down a 2km trail along the ridge and it was absolutely gorgeous.

View of Vilła Lebah from the other side of the ridge.
So peaceful

We ended up walking all the way up the ridge where this cute little old man has a shop filled with his art. We don't usually stop at these things but we spotted something sweet so we decided to have a look inside. This man spends from 6 hours to 6 days hand painting these wooden eggs to sell them in town. They were all amazing and so intricate and he was telling us what each design meant which was awesome because we learnt quite a bit in that 10 minutes we were there.

So cute and kind. This man.
Hand painted,

I guess this was our Balinese egg hunt and once we were done we turned around and walked back to the main road to head home. Katie came up to Villa Lebah with us so she could see the house and meet Carol. We chatted for a while and then ordered fresh and healthy pizza from Bali Buda, which was delivered right to our door, amaze balls.

After scarfing down our delicious pizzas we got to watch the lunar eclipse and that was a first for some of us so it was pretty rad to see. Looks like Katie is already in love with Bali like we are and we don't blame her, it's amazing here.

Time fo beddd.

A bientot,
Janelle Brine
