We are Part-Local

March 29th & 30th, 2015

Kafe with my cutie!

Ubud market! Down where the locals shop. Got so much stuff for like 5 bucks.

As the days go by we feel more and more like locals but our peace has been interrupted in the last few days. As the Bali Spirit Festival approaches, tourist from all around the world are making their way to Bali but it feels like they're all migrating to Ubud.

So all of a sudden, like literally overnight they decided to hop on a tour bus and ALL make there way to Ubud JUST to piss us off. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating but seriously bus after bus are dropping them off by the hundreds and they're sooooo DAMN lost. It's the blind leading the fricken blind out here.

How can we tell you might ask yourself? Well let me tell you because it's quite simple actually. And let's keep in mind that certain tourist are worse than others.

One, they always have to be in groups of atleast 10 or more.

Two, they all have their selfie sticks out and ready to take a picture of themselves or the group, which they could stop and do at any given second. Meaning don't ever get caught walking behind one of these monstrosities because they WILL get in your way, ON PURPOSE!

Three, when we go to our usual stores or restaurants.... There they are being loud, in the way and taking just about every seat in the place.

Four, walk on the damn sidewalks! That's what they're for! Don't walk on the street because guess what! Next time I'm riding my bike on the street and you're not on the sidewalk, I'm pile driving you with my bicyclette.

Five, we're not the only ones frustrated here, the locals hate it just as much because they're in the way and they don't buy anything, so really they're just wasting everyone's time including their own.

Six, have you ever been out of your house? Who taught you how to be in public anyway?

Seven, useless... Enough said.

Now that you know that this is our biggest problem at the moment, there's one reason to be happy you're home and not here. Other than that you may resume being jelly of our trip Ha! Or you can come join anytime!

But really other than this were still in the "doing nothing with ourselves" mode, so not much else to say here! See ya!

Ps: Its the time of the month so this may explain the above rant about the tourist, sorry but not sorry :)

Tanning it up! Prime time.
One of our best meals yet! Veggie Table, we will be back!

Ubud ahh

March 26th to 28th, 2015

Fruit parfait err' morning!

I haven't written anything in a few days because we simply aren't doing anything with ourselves. It's not that we don't have the energy because we're still going to the gym pretty much daily, it's just that we like to do nothing sometimes.

We've been truly enjoying our little routine that we've become accustomed to since arriving here in Ubud! This place makes you feel like you're in paradise, no matter where you are and so it makes it easy for us to just wander all day and not really do anything but enjoy life.

Whippin' out the selfie stick!

Every sight is beautiful scenery and every moment is entertaining therefore, we don't want to go home Ha! One thing I know for sure is that when we do leave, we will without a doubt be back. I have to give a lot of credit to Carol for the amazing Villa she has built, we couldn't ask to feel more comfortable, happy and safe here.

Best Indian food we've had yet.

Every morning when we wake up, before leaving for the gym we get to see the sun rising and the abundantly lush greenery of the rice fields. Although, at times we complain of being sticky from sweating so much, there really isn't anywhere else we'd rather be.

Cooling off with some turmeric drinks.

Vee and I have been through thick and thin together. I can confidently say that being 2.5 years into our relationship we are stronger and happier than ever. This trip has been such a blessing and I know if we've made it 4 months backpacking without killing each other that we can make it a long way still.

She's my soul mate and I love her more than words could ever explain, there isn't anyone I'd rather be traveling the world with.

Anyway enough with the cheesy stuff, but like I mentioned before we haven't been doing much other than gym, eating, relaxing, eating, biking, eating, yoga, more eating and sleep! Peace muhhfuckahs.

Sugary Goodness

March 24th & 25th, 2015

Well today was certainly a busier day than most! Our whole day was planned by Carol who invited us to join a group called the explorers, who every 3 weeks go on a new adventure together. This weeks adventure was great, we got to visit a coconut sugar and a sea salt plantation.

We are very committed, so we went to the gym before getting picked up at 9 AM to start our travels to the sugar plantation. After an hour drive we finally got there and trekked down a dirt road to make our way to the village where they produce the coconut sugar.

When we got to the village we met a sweet couple who are the makers of this life changing sugar. The husband is 58 years of age and still to this day climbs 10 massive coconut trees every day. And the wife takes the husbands gathered coconut tree sap to boil it for 6 hours then manually divides it into 1/4 kilo coconut shells. After the division, the sugar gets hard and once it cools down its ready to be popped out of the coconut shell and brought to the market to be sold.

As fresh and natural as it gets! Coconut sugar for the win!

Just the fact that this couple is doing all this work for a fraction of what we make in the western world for half the amount of work is mind boggling to me. This man is almost 60 years old, is ripped to sh!t and is climbing these trees like it's easier than a walk in the park. Next time you think rice makes you fat, take a good look at the below picture because this man eats it for breakie, lunch and dinner.

Older generation on the left and younger on the right.

After we got to taste and buy some coconut sugar from the fresh batch, we walked back to the van to be brought over to the sea salt plantation. Once we got to the ocean it was quite the sight to see. First, there was big beautiful waves crashing in which I always find super fascinating and second, there was a dozen guys trying to pull a boat out of the water while getting knocked around by those same waves.

So entertaining Ha!

This beach wasn't a regular sandy beach it consisted of volcanic sand, which is way cooler...clearly! We walked over to a little family owned factory where a 68 year old man walks over to the ocean with his buckets hanging off of his back, walks it back up and sprays it all over ther ground. Then once the sun and volcanic sand drys it up, the wife rakes it and fills a basket which ends up being carried over to the hut on her head.

68 and walking on volcanic sand bare foot... Warrior this one.

Once in the hut they work together to make the salt crystals which takes like 5000 different processes... Then voila! Salt! It's pretty crazy to think that all that work goes into making something as simple as salt and sugar. For things that you use often and are so easily accessible to you, it's rare to actually get to see where and how it was made.

All in all it was a great day and we learnt lots, all of this was made possible because of Carol at Villa Lebah! After our adventures we all had a late lunch at a little local Warung then we drove an hour back to Ubud. When we got back we hung out, did a bit of yoga then had dinner at a vegan restaurant in town. After dinner we zoomed back to the house on our bikes and packed it in early as always!

Lil crow pose.

Vegan Warung meal!

---------------

Lameeeeeeeee but oh so awesome relaxing day. I just adore days where we really get up to nothing, just spending time with my pretty lady and enjoying each other's company. There isn't much I'd rather do, than to chill, have a good conversation and stuff my face with food all day.

This is pretty much what we did so it was a good day. We went to the gym this morning as per usual, we worked on deadlift and pull ups today. After the gym Edi dropped us off at Seeds Of Life raw restaurant where Vee and I had some Bali Dragon Fruit Bowls that hit the spot just right.

Crushed it!

After breakie we walked back to the Villa to meet with Carol then we made a little trip over to the grocery store to grab a few things. Quick in and out of the store and before we knew it we were back at the house and after a bit of relaxing it was time to eat again! Booyahh!

Vee and I went to our favourite restaurant Cheapie (Dewa Warung, we call it cheapie because the real name is too much of a tongue twister and the food is cheap so, cheapie it is!) to have our usual salads and tempeh sate.

Best and cheapest food in town.

While sitting at our table Vee over heard a conversation at the table next to us and apparently a guy was asked how old he was and his answer was a bit strange to say the least. She tried to recount it to me after but it went a little like this? The guys said that his actual real human age is 29 and then something about him going in a time machine when he was 4 and then she missed the last part. Then he finished off by saying to the other dude that it's a pretty interesting story, how it all happened. We got a little giggle out of it so it was all good.

After lunch we biked around a bit and went to Earth Cafe to grab some organic veggies to cook up for dinner. These bikes are saving us big time - we get places in no time now, it's great. After our mini daily grocery shop made our way home to chill and do some yoga.

Slowly getting better-ish!

Carol bought a rice cooker today so I cooked our rice noodles in there and made all of us a nice noodle, veggie and tempeh dish for din din. After a good conversation between the three of us and our bellies full we cleaned up and headed to bed! It's 8 pm after all... Serious sleep gainz happening over here at Villa Lebah.

Bikes or Injury Waiting to Happen?

Selamat Pagi? I think that means good morning in Bahasa! Anyway the majority of you will never know Ha! So it's post Nyepi and while every Balinese may feel rejuvenated from their day of silence and meditation, I do too minus the meditating.

The reason I feel rejuvenated is because of this place, Ubud is a magical place that will make all your problems fade and bring you absolute joy. We've been here for 3 weeks and we continue to fall more in love every day. What more than an endless amount of options could a constantly hungry vegan need? Nothing! it's all here.

Mornings are my fave, always sunny.

So it's Sunday, which means it'll most likely be a relaxing day, no gym and nothing specifically planned. We officially have internal alarm clocks that wake us up at 6:30AM, so when it went off, we got up and got ready for the day.

Back to Alchemy we go! They were closed ONE day and you would think we were drug addicts having withdrawals. After yet another amazing fruit bowl and juice we hung out for a bit since their wifi is much better than ours, then trekked back to Villa Lebah. We had bought some veggies to cook for dinner so we dropped them off at the house and went right back out the door.

We walked downtown to go rent some bikes because although we enjoy walking, sometimes it would be nice to get somewhere a bit faster than an hour. We rented two peddle bikes which we will be riding until the end of our stay in Ubud. We would get a scooter but people drive like maniacs in Asia so we'd  rather not die out here.

After getting the bikes we had lunch at our fave little Warung (restaurant) called Dewa Warung, apparently it's been here for years and the prices haven't changed. It was recommended by Dewi, same as the rest of the places we've tried and this one definitely takes the cake since its 1.70$ for a meal that tastes amazing.

Piece of cake!

Once we demolished six plates to the two of us, we biked home, chilled out for a bit until it was time for me to start chopping some veggies for dinner. I cooked up a bunch of veggies and potatoes then foiled them up and baked them to make us an awesome and cheap dinner! There's just something so satisfying about a humongous plate of organic veggies that feeds your body, mind and soul.

Plates are licked clean and it's time for some chilling then bed! Peace!

---------------

Back to the gym = zen.

Selamat fitness! Mmm... Good fitness? I don't really know but our driver says this to us each morning upon dropping us off at the gym. So I reply with Selamat waiting, because he waits in his car while we workout, in my head I'm wishing him a good time waiting Ha! I love blurting out random Indonesian words at them because first of all it makes them laugh and second it's fun.

So anyway back to pumping iron this morning. Carol, Mary-Kay, Vee and I had a leg day today with some squats and so many other fun things. After our gym sesh Vee and I got dropped off at Alchemy for our last breakfast there... We decided we can't eat there every morning anymore because it's wayyyyyy too expensive so maybe just once in a while? Hopefully.

One fruit bowl and 1200 ml of fresh juice down and it's time to go back to the house to shower and get ready for another one of our eventless days. After showering we hopped on our bikes and since we used them a bit more today we quickly realized that they're sh!t and more of a hazard than anything. Poor excuse for bikes but I guess they're doing the trick-ish?

Red leaf salad with balsamic and raw vegan falafel crumbled on top.

We got up to absolutely nothing today, we rode around on our crappy bikes and almost got ran over several times each. We got the usual for lunch at Dewa Warung, they never disappoint which is very comforting. After lunch we juggled around with the idea of getting a membership for yoga but decided against it. It was going to cost us 240$ versus what we actually decided to do which was, buying a cheapie yoga mat and doing it at the Villa. True backpackers save where they can, so this was our solution and compromise, BAM!

Home cooking in ubud!

Yoga mat in hand and it's time to head back to Carol's to cook up some din din. Tonight was leftovers from yesterday with some added broccoli and green beans, ohh and a delicious red leaf lettuce salad with balsamic dressing from Juice Ja. As always our tummies are nice and full and ready for some relaxation followed by bedtime, life could definitely be far worse. Nighty night!

It's A Little Nyepi Outside

March 20th & 21st, 2015

No word can describe the greatness of these beauties.

Back at it today! It's gym time. Mary-Kay, Carol and I worked on various things today. We also decided that we would start Silver Lining Crossfit here in Ubud to get seniors into shape (not actually lol). After our workout we got dropped off at Alchemy for our daily fruit bowl and juice. Once Jay scarfed down his breakfast, it was time for him to hop back into the car to be driven to the airport. He's off to Bangkok with his front row ticket to Jason Mraz's live acoustic concert. Bye bye Jay! Much love from your sisters! It was so great to spend time with you for the last 5 weeks, we're going to miss you.

We stayed at Alchemy for a little while, we ate our food, drank our juice, talked and waited for the rain to stop so we could walk downtown. We need to do some serious prepping, since tomorrow is the Balinese New Year and everything will be closed. We got some food for dinner, tomorrow's breakie and lunch then walked back to the Villa.

Their New year is called Nyepi (pronounced, "Ni-yep-ee") and it is a day of silence and meditation. The whole island of Bali is shut down, all businesses are closed and no one is allowed to use their vehicles, electricity or even get out of their home. Some even fast and sit in the dark all day, left with just their thoughts for 24 hours.

Statue contest.

Once back at the house Vee and I played cards and then around 4:30 PM we all walked back downtown to watch the Ogoh Ogoh festivities. The locals build these huge statue-like things and walk them trough the street all the way down to the football field where they're judged and awarded. It was quite interesting to see such a different culture from our own, our New Year doesn't really look like this Ha!

When the festivities were over, we made our way back and I cooked dinner for the three of us. Stir-fry with tempeh it is! It ended up being quite delicious for what I had to work with and now that our bellies are full it's time for bed!

Veggies I chopped for dinner!
---------------

Breakfast I prepared for Vee.

Vee, Carol, Novi and I decided that we are just about the worst Nyepiers ever. Not only are we not silent, we ate lots of food, hung out on the porch outside the house and we are having a dinner party for 8 with a Balinese chef cooking us food. Disgrace Ha! Oh well, we appreciate and respect what they're celebrating but at the end of the day were not Balinese and were not disturbing anyone!

Novi and I looking for the coconut dude and totally breaking the Nyepi rules. (Apparently if you're caught outside your punishment can be as bad as having to scrub the temple!)

Today literally only consisted of relaxing, getting fresh coconuts from the coconut dude and eating. After breakfast we hung out on the porch while drinking coconut water and eating coconut meat. Then Novi made us a Balinese lunch with the fresh spinach from the garden which was oh so good! Following lunch we watched the movie, St Vincent upon Jay's request then relaxed some more.

Fresh, young and older coconut!
Homemade Banana Coconut Butter Nice Kreme.

Dinner finally came around, everyone was here and having a good time. Carol had organized for a chef to make us a 4 course meal that we all enjoyed alongside great company. It just so happened that 7 out of 8 of us were canadian and 5 from kelowna, so weird yet so awesome! Dinner was delicious and for four plates of food prepared by a professional chef for only 12$, I'd say that's pretty darn good.

Appie.

After some wicked conversation, lots of stories told and laughs had it was time to end Nyepi for us! We out!

On Cloud 9

March 18th & 19th, 2015

Sun starting to rise.

I don't think I've ever woken up at 2 AM for anything before. I honestly don't even know what possessed us to willingly wake up at this absurd hour to hike an active volcano. With maybe 4 or 5 hours of sleep we all put an excessive amount of effort to roll out of bed. We had to meet Edi (Our driver) down the road at 2:30 AM to drive 1.5 hours to the bottom of the volcano.

Upon arrival, we got assigned to a trekking guide, who we climbed this very steep volcano with for 1.5 hours at 4 in the morning. Her name was Nyoman and while her english wasn't the best however, she was really great and focused on our health and safety the whole trek.

When we got to the top of the volcano after the toughest climb we've all ever experienced, it's was freezing up there. Vee asked Nyoman how many times a week she guides people up and she said every single morning. I really don't think I would be able to wake up that early every day and hike up a mountain for hours!

Literally above the clouds!

Fun fact: In Bali there are only 4 names for either boy or girl and so depending on whether your first, second, third or fourth born will determine your name. I believe that first born is Wiyan ("why-an"), second is Made (pronounced "Ma-day"), third is Nyoman ("Nee-ohh-man") and last is Ketut ("Kuh-tut"). If there's a fifth child they start over, we all thought this was pretty interesting.

We waited at the top for about 45 minutes until the sun started to rise. Once it was finally risen, the scenery we were seeing before us was quite amazing. We were literally above the clouds at 6 in the morning after a gruelling hike, watching the sun come up from behind the mountains of Bali.

After some sweet pictures and having enough of the cold weather, we commenced our descent. One hour later and some very full bladders we were finally at the bottom again and ready to go home. Naturally, we were very tired so when we arrived back to Villa Lebah we laid down to relax and nap away our fatigued bodies.

Going back down.

Other than eating, we literally didn't do anything for the rest of the day. Although, the trek was fun and beautiful I'm not sure how worth it is was because it f#cked up our whole day. Sleep deprivation doesn't sit well with us. Brunch at Alchemy and dinner at Clear Cafe, good food good day = time for bed!

Daily.
---------------
Skipped the gym this morning, we were way too tired and we had to go over to Radiantly Alive for our colon hydrotherapy at 9:30AM and 11AM. Around 9 we left the house and walked over to RA and one at a time we got our colons cleaned and detoxed. This was my second time and Vee's first, she was nervous to start with but that quickly went away after I finished mine and explained to her how well it went and how good I was feeling.

Most people might think it's weird and that we're crazy but when it comes to my health there isn't much I wouldn't do. This won't be my last colonic and I'm proud to say that the last 4 years of being vegan has truly paid off. The hydrotherapist said that my colon was really healthy and strong. I know that this is an improvement from my last 3 years ago because last time during the session I had a lot more cramping and more waste came out.

Yes!

This time there was no cramping and barely any waste, this is proof of how amazing a plant based lifestyle really is. Three years ago I had only been vegan for about 7 months and my body was still very toxic from all the animal and processed foods I was previously ingesting. Now three years later I'm clean as a whistle and I'm very proud of myself for staying healthy all this time.

After the colonic we grabbed some good food at Bali Buda then Vee and I helped Jay find some trinkets to bring home, since it's his last day in Indonesia. After a bit of looking around we found some stuff and headed back to the Villa. We relaxed as always and basically waited for it to be time to eat again.

Yum yum!

Unanimously decided, diner was officially going to be had at Taco Casa again. Jay had a veggie enchilada, Vee had a veggie burrito and me a Taco salad bowl! So so so delicious and satisfying. Time for bed now so we can wake up with lots of energy for the gym in the morning.

Taco Casa bathroom door... Lol

Oh Ubud, How I've missed you!

March 16th & 17th, 2015

Every little alley in Ubud is so gorgeous.

Peace out Gili T, we're finally leaving the island today. We've been away for three days and it was more than enough. I think that about halfway through our second day I was ready to come back to Ubud. It was like leaving my paradise, Ubud is literally the most perfect place I've ever been.

All islands seem the same to me, a place for young travellers to party and get super drunk or high which isn't our scene so it definitely felt good to hop on that boat today. We took the 11:30 AM boat that brought us back to Bali and after a 1.5 hour boat ride we still had an hour drive in the minivan to get to Ubud.

Island from a far! Goodbye!

Once finally in Ubud we went full tilt to a restaurant, as we were quite hungry and oh so glad to be back where the food is unbelievably delicious. Good food on the islands was such a struggle to find and there seriously isn't anything worst than sh!tty food in my opinion.

After a great dinner at SOL Cafe we dragged our tired bodies and big back packs back to Villa Lebah where we crashed to for the night. Not much of an eventful day but when travelling, these type of days happen once in a while where you spend your whole day on transportation, life could be worse Ha! (I could be in Canada covered in snow...sorry mom and dad!).

Back into our routine this morning! 6 AM wake up and by 7 AM were at Ubud Fitness to start our workout of the day. We worked a lot on hip mobility today to improve our squats, one of the many things I appreciate about Crossfit is how mechanics are a higher priority than load.

Somewhat of a hectic morning, after the gym we went back to the house to shower then picked up some fresh juice at Alchemy followed by a cleaning at the dentist. A cleaning is only 45 CAD here so we figured we'd get that done since neither of us have a dentist in Kelowna. It was a bit different than getting a cleaning in Canada but at the end of it, it certainly did the trick!

Random path we took on the way back from the dentist.

Carol, Vee and I trekked back to the house to drop off some stuff then Vee and I met up with Jay at Starbucks where he was hanging out while waiting for us to done at the dentist. All three of us walked down the street and hopped into a cab which brought us down to Taco Casa, where we ate some awesome vegan burritos upon Dewi's request.

Yummy veggie burrito.

After lunch we walked over to Ubud's famous Monkey Forest and we fed these cute but crazy creatures some bananas. By fed them I actually meant they come take the bananas from you if you don't throw or willingly give it to them within 30 seconds of entering the forest. I find monkeys so fascinating, while Vee and Jay were being a bit untrusting around them (Don't get me wrong I wasn't too trusting either) I was trying to observe their behaviours. I know that it's known for them to be biologically similar to humans but I still find it crazy how similar they really are.

Monkey forest entrance.

Little babes and his mom.

Jus hangin' out.

When we were ready to walk home it started to pour out so we waited a bit while watching a monkey steal a bag of mangosteen from a woman walking on the sidewalk (quite funny I must say). The rain wasn't really stopping so we cabbed it to Clear Cafe to hangout and grab some dinner.

Clear Cafe.

Since we have to wake up at 2 AM tomorrow morning for our volcano sunrise trek we will be packing it in extremely early tonight! Grabbing juice and date balls for the morning then off to bed.

Gili T-Pain

March 14th & 15th, 2015

On the way to Gili T.

Off to Gili Trawangan this AM, I would say that Gili Air has been nice but I would be lying. None of us really like to party too much and even we thought that Gili Air was too quiet for our liking. Also if you want to read about the horse drawn carriage horror we experienced on the islands, I wrote and article on it on my other blog.

Painful to watch this cruelty.

Between the three Gili Islands, Gili T is supposed to be the crazier one that's more of a party vibe than the others. We thought we'd try it out anyway and also we figured we could go out for our new Canadian friend's birthday.

We took the mid morning boat over to the other island, upon arrival we could already feel the difference in the vibe and busyness of this place. After choosing a sh!tty bungalow to stay in we left our bags and went exploring. There wasn't much to explore but the first Cafe we stumbled upon ended up being awesome and a staple during our two day stay on Gili T.

At Kayu Cafe. Truth.

Towards the end of our exploring we ran into those Canadians we had previously met yesterday and they gave us the details for the outing tonight. From our two short encounters with these girls, we were starting to wonder what we had got ourselves into.

Before dinner we did a Vinyasa Flow Yoga class and we all agreed that it was such a great way to make us feel awesome and got us super hungry.

After an amazing dinner at Garden Cafe, the only vegetarian restaurant on the island, we headed back to our pathetic bungalow to clean up and get ready to go out. We're moving up in the world! We're actually going out for the first time since leaving Canada Ha! It's funny though because even once we arrived at the bar and feeling that party vibe around us, I still didn't really want to drink.

Garden Cafe Hummus platter.

Followed by a bit of social pressure and good live music, I had a few drinks and was feeling slightly what Vee and I call "Drunky pants". When the bar started filling up a bit more, we all went onto the dance floor to bust a move of two. A few songs later, one of the singers pulled our friend onto the stage so the whole bar could sing her happy birthday.

Come to find out her birthday was 3 months ago and they were just fooling around and telling people it was her birthday that night. We were the only ones who knew the truth so we were laughing while everyone else was singing.

Fake birthday girl.

A few more songs passed, then Vee and I had had enough so we went back to the bungalow while everyone else stayed at the bar. When we got back to the room we realized how lame we were because it was only 12:30AM Ha! But you know what I LOVE being lame, theres no better feeling than a good nights sleep.

I was so mad in the morning too because I wasn't feeling as good as I had been previously, I looked at Vee and said I'm never drinking again! (This won't be the case but I was upset at the fact that drinking the night before had prevented me from waking up on time to do yoga).

Kayu Cafe Breakie.

After I got over being upset about drinking, we dragged our bodies out of bed and went to eat breakie at the Kayu Cafe. On the way back from the Cafe a local asked us if we wanted to go snorkelling, which usually we would say no but I remembered Serina telling us it was worth it on the Gilis.

So after deciding to do it, the dude informed us that the boat was leaving right away which meant we had about 2 minutes to get organized. We ran back to our room, got our bathing suits, grabbed some towels and got on the boat just on time (By just on time I mean everyone was totally waiting for us).

View from the boat.

We stopped at two different spots around the islands and snorkelled with some beautiful fish and corrals. On the second stop the guide jumped in with us and brought us over to swim with sea turtles, they were stunning and probably the coolest thing I've ever seen. Before the last stop we got dropped off on Gili Air to eat lunch. Following lunch was our final stop where we swam with more sea life, then the boat made its way back to shore.

Garden Cafe also offers...

On our snorkelling trip we met some more Canadians which is so odd because we've literally met more of them on these islands than we have in the last 2 months. Mel and Alex from Ottawa joined us for dinner at Garden Cafe where we ate some good food and enjoyed each other's company. After dinner we packed'er in early since we were all super tired from our "late night" the night before, pathetic we are.
