6 am rolls around, alarm goes off, it's time to wake up and head on over to the gym with the crew. My back has definitely gotten much better however, isn't where I want it or where it used to be, this is extremely frustrating. As shitty as it is I know better than to let it bring me down therefore, keep on truckin' I go.
After the gym Vee and Carol went straight back to the house while I paid Alchemy a visit to grab some fresh juice for all of us. With my order in hand, I made my way back to the house where Vee was getting a massage by Carol's masseuse followed by the chugging of our juices.
Once noon was getting closer we got ready and went out the door to walk to town center. Vee got an anklet and I got some extremely cheap stretchers for my ears, score! After a bit of walking around and minimal shopping we were hungry so we grabbed lunch at Juice Ja Café where we inhaled some wheatgrass shots, salads and vegan samosas.
After our late lunch it was already 2:30pm and we wanted to go to a Vinyasa Flow yoga class at 4pm so off to the Yoga Barn we went. Although expensive, the Yoga Barn is a beautiful and tranquil place where we enjoyed 1.5 hours of advanced yoga.
Yes, you read it correctly, it was an advanced class which didn't know before we joined it but holy was it ever challenging. Sometimes you think you're well rounded and fit enough to apply your fitness to anything especially after 4 years for Crossfit, NOPE! I still suck at yoga (except the head/hand stands, that's where I can use my strength to my advantage, muhaha!), I have such respect for yogis and what they're able to do with their bodies. It was a good experience and it definitely made me realize that although I probably will never solely practice yoga, that it's important to add it to my exercise regime.
About 20 minutes before class ended it started to down poor. As we finished up our movements we laid down on our mats to relax and listen to the falling rain during the most peaceful savasana I've ever experienced (I may not have many to compare it to but still!).
After yoga we walked back into town to get dinner and thankfully the rain had slowed down quite a bit. A successful dinner, a nice walk back to the house, and a comforting shower later and another day in Bali is complete with love and happiness.
Yesterday was yet another wonderful day here in Ubud and today is following in the same footsteps, how are we ever going to leave this place? I'm not entirely sure because last night Vee and I decided that we are going to spend the next 2-3 months here instead of going back up Laos etc. we may just save the other countries we missed up there for next time we come to South East Asia, it's just too perfectly perfect here.
Gym as always this morning, followed by a Bali Acai bowl and a green smoothie for breakfast, so yum!
Once we finished breakie we went and sat at Starbucks mainly to use their WiFi, so we killed a few hours there until lunch time. For lunch we walked over to Alchemy to have a big salad and some fresh juice once again.
It was pretty cool because Vee just so happened to check her Instagram and saw that one of the people she follows had just posted a picture of her juice at Alchemy only 24 minutes prior. This person owns a juice company in the UK and Vee has been following her for quite some time so she decided to have a look around the store to see if she was still there. She was! So we went over to her and mentioned IG etc and chatted for a few minutes, her name is Steph and she owns Love Juice in Manchester. She ended up being such a great acquaintance and so kind hearted.
Once done at Alchemy we went back to the house to chill for a bit before getting ready for tonight's ventures. I believe we all laid down and fell asleep within 30 minutes or less, I guess we were tired and didn't even realize it.
When we woke up, we had a snack, got ready and walked to Seeds of Life restaurant to join them for their 1 year anniversary. SOL is a raw food restaurant and yoga studio where we had some awesome food in good company. It was so great to be around like minded people, the vibe was great and you could really tell that all these people were healthy and full of love and compassion.
Back at Villa Lebah now and time for yet another amazing sleep.
A bientot,
Janelle Brine
