We smart like dump truck

Departure!
January 9th

I'm Running on a lack of sleep, nerves and excitement for all the awesomeness we are about to come across once arriving in Asia. I had no idea what kind of day I was about to encounter, starting with the dreaded moving of our endless crap, especially the bed. This mattress not only hit me in the head launching my noggin into the wall and leaving me with a goose egg but it also decided to run away on us.

After loading it into Court's truck we had a brief discussion on whether we should strap it down more or not and I had the bright idea not to. Reason being that I never thought that a heavy ass mattress was going anywhere anytime soon. Half way to Serina's all I hear is ...  FUCKKKKKKKKKK THE BED!!!! I look back and the bed is nowhere to be seen; great my white mattress is laying on a wet and dirty highway and cars are probably running it over or we've caused an accident.

Luckily (ish) when we turned the truck around we saw that a police car had its lights on and was directing the traffic away from our little mishap.

Us: Sorry officer the straps must've fallen off! (Total fib...oops!)
Officer: can I see your licence please.
Court: Man!! The one time I don't have it!
Officer: I could give you a 700$ fine today, but I'll let you off with a warning. (100$ for not having you license with you and 600$ for not securely strapping our shit down...)
Us: phewwwwww!

After Veronica spent 1 hour scrubbing the dirt off of the bed we finally went on about our day and rushed through the rest of our last minute errands before we had to make our way to the airport.

Finally were at the Kelowna airport! There's no way anything else can go wrong right? Wrong. The lady at the check in counter informs us that she may not be able to allow us on the plane to Vancouver because we don't have a proof of exit out of Singapore.
So all this time and all the people we've talk to about our trip no one knew we needed proof of exit out of the country? Somehow this lady figured things out for us and left us with just enough (I mean literally walking straight onto the plane) time to catch our flight to Vancouver.

Following many many disputes between Vee and I, we decided to go sit at milestones and have a few drinks to ease the stress of the fact that we can't make it to Singapore until we plan our exit out of the country. Results of the disputes: Fuck it lets just fly to Taipei and we will figure it out once we can make a group decision with Marleigh.

I am writing this as I sit on a 11 hour flight with only 1.5 hours to go, the excitement and level of how pumped I am right now is nearly unexplainable. I cannot wait to see the world and to do it with the love of my life and my wicked friend Marleigh, without either of them I wouldn't be sitting on this plane.

A bientot,
Janelle Brine
